  3.  @briandufoe3719  Wow.! that's crazy. They're still living in the 1800s. But the good news is that their military hardware most likely really is substandard, and they probably don't even realise it themselves. I almost feel sorry for them ... almost. Thanks for the info, you've made my year 👍

  4.  @briandufoe3719  Ok, so I think I've figured it out in relation to all these issues China has. Maybe, if they don't have schools for building industry, they also don't have schools or apprenticeships for other stuff. I'm talking like catering for instance, so they don't get taught about food hygiene during their chefs course, therefore have no idea on correct procedures. So, if Chinese government does a cut-n-paste on food hygiene requirements from other countries, then puts that into law, nobody will have any idea just how to implement these directives, so they don't bother about it. I just used catering as an example, but my guess is that this goes for the vast majority of industries in China, the workers have no idea about the safety or quality requirements for their particular profession. That's pretty f@kcing scary.
