@OldManBadly Uhh, no. OBDII is only required to deliver basic powertrain and emissions-related information. Other things like driver assist systems, climate control, etc do not need to go over OBDII. And if you are saying our law mandates a non-standard system you clearly haven't read it. Here's some exact wording lifted from the law: "motor vehicle owners’ and independent repair facilities’ access to vehicle on-board diagnostic systems shall be standardized and not require any authorization by the manufacturer" and "shall be required to equip such vehicles with an inter-operable, standardized and open access platform across all of the manufacturer’s makes and models".

@OldManBadly @Old Man Badly Do you have a source for those going over OBDII? Maybe they changed the rules but when I worked on a MY 2011 car I needed to use proprietary sequences in order to read an HVAC DTC. Also from what I can tell Tesla vehicles do not offer any data over OBDII.
