  1. Am I the only one who's had mostly good experiences with CFLs? I've never had a problem with the electronics getting cooked; I've done autopsies on my family's burnt out CFLs and without exception it was the tube itself which had failed. The only early failure I encountered with CFLs was in the bathroom where they were always short-cycled. And even that was probably just because of the instant-on "feature". We have an old-style non-twisted CFL with proper programmed start and it still works fine after 16 years of frequent use.
