@daledavies2334 Except often the dashboard is still lit lit even with the headlights off. I know somebody who was pulled over in a then-new 2011 CRV because of this. When the car is lighting the road in front of you and the dashboard is lit it's easy not to realize the headlights aren't on. You would need to notice the incorrect beam pattern or you would need to know that there is a dedicated symbol on the dashboard to indicate the headlights. Unless you're specifically thinking about it you probably won't notice.
