@lemagreengreen Technically you can't on mine because it doesn't have a power button. You turn the knob to start the desired cycle. It's really just one mechanically-programmed cycle but the different settings (heavy, medium, light) just skip past the first prewash cycles.

@TheNabeshein Modern dishwashers have an exhaust fan? My mid-90s Maytag runs a fan during the dry part of the cycle. It's so not-modern it doesn't have any semiconductors.

@AndrewDasilvaPLT On the other hand this old-school one uses about 3x as much water* as Alec's newer one. If you use the dishwasher multiple times a week the savings make the additional complexity worth it. *It's not so much the water itself but more the energy to heat the water.
