@genes.3285 It might be useful to recap some of the reason why Russia is now an outcast :
Russian interference in numerous elections and referendums in EU countries over the last decade; Russia's active disinformation campaigns across the EU;
Russian-based cyber attacks targeting numerous EU countries;
Provocative Russian military flights in and around EU and NATO airspace;
Russia's interference with GPS navigation systems in Scandinavia;
Russia's continued deployment of "peacekeepers" in Moldova despite that country's repeated requests that Russian troops be replaced with UN peacekeepers;
Russia's 2008 war against Georgia and its continued occupation of some 20 percent of Georgian territory;
Russia's 2014 annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region;
Russia's intense involvement in the war in eastern Ukraine, which the ICC in November 2016 ruled "an international armed conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation";
Russia's obstructionism in implementation of the Minsk agreements to end the Ukraine conflict;
Russia's role in acts of terrorism in the 2014 downing of a passenger airliner (Malaysia Airlines MH17) over Ukraine that killed 298 people;
Russia's poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko in London in 2006;
Russia's attempted assassination of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in Salisbury in 2018;
among lots of other things to much to even list up ..
NONE OF THIS ABOVE WAS SOMETHING THE EU , THE USA OR EVEN NATO, FORCED OR TRICKED RUSSIA INTO DOING !!!
RUSSIA’S INVASION OF UKRAINE in 2014 VIOLATED INTERNATIONAL LAW:
1. The Geneva Convention.
2. Charter of the United Nations
3. The Helsinki Accords
4. The Charter of the OSCE
5. Budapest Memorandum of 1994
6. Two Russia, Ukraine friendship treaties
7. International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination
8. European Court of Human Rights
THE LEGAL FACTS WHY CRIMEA BELONGS TO UKRAINE .
The earlier published documents, and materials that have emerged more recently make clear that the transfer of Crimea from the RSFSR to the UkrSSR was carried out in accordance with the 1936 Soviet constitution, which in Article 18 stipulated that “the territory of a Union Republic may not be altered without its consent.” The proceedings of the USSR Supreme Soviet Presidium meeting indicate that both the RSFSR and the UkrSSR had given their consent via their republic parliaments.
One of the officials present at the 19 February session, Otto Kuusinen, even boasted that “only in our country [the USSR] is it possible that issues of the utmost importance such as the territorial transfer of individual oblasts to a particular republic can be decided without any difficulties.” One might argue that the process in 1954 would have been a lot better if it had been complicated and difficult, but no matter how one judges the expeditiousness of the territorial reconfiguration, the main point to stress here is that it is incorrect to say (as some Russian commentators and government officials recently have) that Crimea was transferred unconstitutionally or illegally. The legal system in the Soviet Union was mostly a fiction, but the transfer did occur in accordance with the rules in effect at the time.
Moreover, regardless of how the transfer was carried out, the Russian Federation expressly accepted Ukraine’s 1991 borders both in the December 1991 Belovezhskaya Pushcha accords (the agreements that precipitated and codified the dissolution of the Soviet Union) and in the December 1994 Budapest Memorandum that finalized Ukraine’s status as a non-nuclear weapons state.

@genes.3285 Describing this KGB thug, that is Putin as some sort of "geo political master chess player and inspiring world class leader to respect and look up too" when he is in-fact is one controlled rigged election aways from nothing less than a self-appointed, Tin Pot dictator president for life, seams like highly misleading at this point, ref. like some do as some sort a world class geopolitical chess game mastermind is clearly giving him WAY more credit than he deserves !!
Lets take a look at some facts;
Putin's goal with Ukraine is to reconquest the old Soviet "sphere of influence", how is that working out for the bear wrestling, half naked horseback raiding thug that is Putin, he can not even take Ukriane or take Kyiv; instead he did a good job in stoking Ukrainian national pride and pushing Ukrainian society from any sympathies they once had towards Russia, at this point it will be hard to find any true Ukrainian that wants to join Putins dream of a Russian controls Eurasia Union (read up about Putins Eurasia Union ) or absorb anything that is Russian into their country, society ; as fare as Ukraine goes the idea and ideology of the Russki Mir (read up about the Russki Mir ) is a dead duck in the water , nothing but a kremlin pipe dream !!
The other goal Putin had was to stop NATO expansion, how did that work out, instead of stopping NATO expansion and new member states from entering NATO; the opposite happned; Becouse Putin the "Geo political chess-master" he like to think he received "a back fire" on his stupid actions and his brutal aggression in is conduction inside neighboring Ukriane it only gave fuel to NATO champions in Nordic countries, like Sweden and Finland and resulted in the opposite of what the Kremlin needs and wanted, a geo political, military defense strategic disaster for Russia !!
FINLAND, THE ONE WESTERN COUNTRY THE KREMLIN DID NOT WANT INSIDE NATO and the country with the longest border with Russia, is now joining NATO also lets not forget;
Finland foreign policy has been since 1948 one of full neutrality, even under the cold war, Finland never once took any sides,; the fact that now Finland is joining NATO this resulting in-fact in tripping the size of NATO borders, with Russia putin Nato shelling distance to St Petersburg !""
YES what a geo political chess player PUTIN is hahahaha !!!
(Read about the Soviet Finlandization policy and the Treaty called ; The Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance of 1948, The YYA Treaty )
And when it comes to Sweden joining NATO, Putins has managed something NO one ever thought will happen, NOT even WW1 , WW2 or even the Cold War has managed to change the neutrality and nonalignment polices of Sweden a policy Sweden has stuck with since 1814 ; Swedish neutrality and nonalignment policy in all those years may partly explain, how the country could stay out of wars since 1814. But now Sweden has gave up that policy and now it will join NATO as well !!
This is the worst thing that could possibel (except for Finland joining ) could happen, for Russia looking at it from a tactical security point of view, form the eyes of the Russian Navy's baltic sea fleet, this makes the Baltic sea in effect a NATO play pond and nothing can move in it without 100% Nato control, effectively putting the Russian Navy in Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg in docking making them more or less obsolete..
(Read about the Swedish policy know as The Policy of 1812 Since the time of the Napoleonic Wars, Sweden has not initiated any direct armed conflict)
On other points economical , geo politically, militarily, internationally , domestically ect ect ect , there is also "master chess moves " done by Putin that has resulted in catastrophic to the point of almost suicidal stupidity results for Russia. (not that I care personally I am loving it )
When it comes to The EU Putins geo political mastermind moves did not splinter up the EU (something the Kremlin has worked very hard to achieve for many years and was before 2014 well in its way to do) , remember Brexit and the talk of possible other countries taking a exit out of EU there was at times talk internationally and nationally of a Polxit , a Duchxit , a Swedxit a Franxit a Hungxit and a Danxit and some other's.. NOT ANYMORE Europe is more solid and together unified on the issues like foreign policies, energy, defense, and sanctions ect ect ect than it has ever been before !! I say well done Putin what a chess move WOW !!
And lets not forget all European NATO countries are now increasing their spending and budgets (in the middle of a world wide recession ) of there armed forces Germany is a perfect (and not the only one ) example 100 billion euro in upgrading its air land and sea forces and all the others countries have also similar project's for their armed forces also every country is now using minimum 2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) on military and defense raise its defense spending above 2 percent of GDP.
This is unprecedented never since the hight of the cold war have we seen such rearmament in NATO member-sates, only in 2017 some leaders was saying NATO is obsolete; Trump is not just the only one that was saying this, many others as well and the reason for such statements back then was that only five of NATO 28 member-states were paying defense spending goal - 2% of GDP ; BUT THANKS to the geopolitical grandmaster chess player that is DICTATOR PUTIN we now see not just a 2 % GDP for all , but billions extra investment into all NATO armed forces member-states
YES GOOD JOB MR PUTIN you put the P in performance on that one LOL ..
I can go on and on take out pointers to show the Kremlin PR. made myth of Putin the genius strongman statesman that out players everyone myth is been totally debunked but I think by now you get my point !!!
Russia is a joke and will always be a joke Russians have nothing at all to be proud of Stalin's USSR and today's Putin's Russia are and was totalitarian states..

@genes.3285 Moscow’s unwillingness to cooperate in the Kaliningrad exclave wedged between Lithuania and Poland,
* Koenigsberg, as the city of Kaliningrad was once known, was founded by Teutonic knights in the 13th Century. It was once the capital of Prussia
* Annexed by Russia from Germany after WWII. Germans fled or were expelled
* It is more than 300km away from Russia, which can only be reached through an EU country
* It houses the Russian Baltic Fleet and is the country's only ice-free European port
* The philosopher Immanuel Kant spent all his life in the city and died there in 1804
Russia's deployment of the Iskander NUKES serves multiple strategic purposes beyond the purely military. It is intended to remind the Western public - and particularly those in the Baltic republics (Lithuania Estonia , Latvia ) - of the nuclear stakes in facing up to Moscow.
It is part of the signaling in a wider information war between Russia is running towards the west , where Moscow seeks to divide the Atlantic alliance and to secure for itself the ability to do as it pleases in what it sees as its near-abroad aka hegemony states so Moscow can exploit those states for its own agenda and resorses . Thus Russian-backed forces control parts of Georgia; Russia has annexed Crimea and backs pro-Russian militias in eastern Ukraine.
The problem for Nato is that the Baltic republics, whilst once Soviet territory, are now firmly within the Western camp. It has to draw clear lines to confront Moscow's influence while trying to avoid escalating any crisis further, this is not to the Kremlins liking..
And on a side note Russia’s violations of the Open Skies treaty, and treaty do not come in isolation and come on top of infringements of other treaties.

@genes.3285 US. and UK., gave Ukraine a guarantee of protecting Ukraine sovereignty and territorial integrity based on the 1991 borders that included Crimea and east Ukraine Luhansk and Donbass..
As of the result of the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, US., gave Ukraine a guarantee that the US, stands now as a grantor of Ukraine sovereignty , becouse Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons and back then, Ukraine had the world's third-largest nuclear weapons stockpile !!
This guarantee was reconfirmed by United States when in 2009 released a statement that the memorandum's security assurances would still be respected after the expiration of the START Treaty
After the annexation of Crimea by in 2014, The US, Canada, the UK, France along with other countries, stated that Russian involvement was a breach of its obligations to Ukraine under the Budapest Memorandum and in violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Let me explain and give some Content !!
According to the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, Russia, the US and the UK confirmed their recognition of Ukraine becoming parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and effectively abandoning their nuclear arsenal to Russia and that they would:
1. Respect Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.
2. Refrain from the threat or the use of force against Ukraine.
3. Refrain from using economic pressure on Ukraine to influence their politics.
4. Seek immediate action to provide assistance Ukraine if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used".
5. Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against Ukraine.
6. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments
We need to understand that EITHER the word/ deals and / or the grantees of the west are worth something or they are not !!
