Claim: The cases of Kosovo and Crimea are identical
Fact: The Kosovo operation was conducted following exhaustive discussion involving the whole international community dealing with a long-running crisis that was recognized by the UN Security Council as a threat to international peace and security.
Following the operation, the international community engaged in nearly ten years of diplomacy, under UN authority, to find a political solution and to settle Kosovo's final status, as prescribed by UNSCR 1244.
In Crimea, there was no pre-existing crisis, no attempt to discuss the situation with the Ukrainian government, no involvement of the United Nations, and no attempt at a negotiated solution.
In Kosovo, international attempts to find a solution took over 3,000 days. In Crimea, Russia annexed part of Ukraine's territory in less than 30 days. It has sought to justify its illegal and illegitimate annexation, in part, by pointing to a "referendum" that was inconsistent with Ukrainian law, held under conditions of illegal armed occupation with no freedom of expression or media access for the opposition, and without any credible international monitoring.

Although Transnistria declared independence in 1990, NO United Nations member recognizes its sovereignty and the region is considered by the UN to be part of Moldova.
Currently, only Abkhazia, and South Ossetia recognise Transnistria independence, all themselves states with NO or limited recognition only by Russia, (for offices reasons of self interested ) Venezuela, , Nauru, and Syria how are dependent on Russia for different geo political reasons them as independent. .!!
WHEN IT COMES TO KOSAVOs KFOR they have a legal UN security mandate this gives them the legal right in accordance with International laws !!!
When it comes to Kosovo Force (KFOR), is provided by 28 countries with a UN mandate United Nations (UN), that gives the a legal right in accordance with International law that continue to work towards maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens and communities in Kosovo regardless of ethnic background and social status .

And KFOR strongly supports the Belgrade-Pristina EU-brokered Normalisation Agreement (2013) and stands to support its implementation.
Also KFOR derives its International legal mandate from (1999) UNs UNSCR 1244 mandate and form the Military-Technical Agreement between NATO, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Serbia.

Claim: NATO's operation over Kosovo was illegitimate
Fact: The NATO operation for Kosovo followed over a year of intense efforts by the UN and the Contact Group, of which Russia was a member, to bring about a peaceful solution. The UN Security Council on several occasions branded the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo and the mounting number of refugees driven from their homes as a threat to international peace and security. NATO's Operation Allied Force was launched to prevent the large-scale and sustained violations of human rights and the killing of civilians.
Following the air campaign, the subsequent NATO-led peacekeeping operation, KFOR, which initially included Russia, has been under UN mandate (UNSCR 1244) see here , with the aim of providing a safe and secure environment in Kosovo.
Claim: Russia has the right to demand a "100% guarantee" that Ukraine will not join NATO
Fact: According to Article I of the Helsinki Final Act which established the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in 1975, every country has the right "to belong or not to belong to international organizations, to be or not to be a party to bilateral or multilateral treaties including the right to be or not to be a party to treaties of alliance." All the OSCE member states, including Russia, have sworn to uphold those principles.
In line with those principles, Ukraine has the right to choose for itself whether it joins any treaty of alliance, including NATO's founding treaty.
Moreover, when Russia signed the Founding Act, it pledged to uphold "respect for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all states and their inherent right to choose the means to ensure their own security".
Thus Ukraine has the right to choose its own alliances, and Russia has, by its own repeated agreement, no right to dictate that choice.

RUSSIA DOSE NOT CARE ABOUT NATO EU OR EVEN ETHNIC RUSSIANS ITS A SMOKESCREEN !! RUSSIA IS RUNING A WAR IN UKRIANE OVER UKRAINIAN GAS AND OIL !!
Pavel Gubarev, the self-proclaimed leader of pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk, admitting in an interview with Russian television Rossiya 24 on 19 May that one of the key reasons for the fighting is Kyiv’s push to “continue development of shale gas on the territory of Ukraine”.
If this is indeed the case, Russia managed to accomplish its mission – at least for now. Both Shell and Chevron decided to freeze and pull out from their shale projects in the region.
Before the civil war, Ukraine had agreements with the energy giants to explore and tap its shale gas fields in hope to reduce the country’s heavy dependency on Russian gas imports. In the Donetsk Region Shell had a 50-year profit sharing deal with the government of Ukraine to explore and drill for natural gas in shale rock formations.
At first, the withdrawal of Shell and Exxon seemed to be strictly Ukraine’s problem. However, if we zoom out and look at Europe’s energy map, the case is quite different. Besides Russia, the future of Ukraine’s shale gas if confirmed could be of enormous importance for both the European Union and the US. In addition to its own independence, Ukraine also had ambitious plans to become an exporter of shale gas to Europe – with the active contribution of the America and its business interests.
Eduard Stavytskiy, then Ukrainian energy and coal industry minister, said in April 2013 that with the help of shale gas and Crimean offshore gas projects, Ukraine could start exports of gas to Europe in four to five years and to become a net energy exporter by 2020. As we know, by now, both of these areas are not under Kyiv’s control anymore.

US. and UK., gave Ukraine a guarantee of protecting Ukraine sovereignty and territorial integrity based on the 1991 borders that included Crimea and east Ukraine Luhansk and Donbass..
As of the result of the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, US., gave Ukraine a guarantee that the US, stands now as a grantor of Ukraine sovereignty , becouse Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons and back then, Ukraine had the world's third-largest nuclear weapons stockpile !!
This guarantee was reconfirmed by United States when in 2009 released a statement that the memorandum's security assurances would still be respected after the expiration of the START Treaty
After the annexation of Crimea by in 2014, The US, Canada, the UK, France along with other countries, stated that Russian involvement was a breach of its obligations to Ukraine under the Budapest Memorandum and in violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Let me explain and give some Content !!
According to the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, Russia, the US and the UK confirmed their recognition of Ukraine becoming parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and effectively abandoning their nuclear arsenal to Russia and that they would:
1. Respect Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.
2. Refrain from the threat or the use of force against Ukraine.
3. Refrain from using economic pressure on Ukraine to influence their politics.
4. Seek immediate action to provide assistance Ukraine if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used".
5. Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against Ukraine.
6. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments
We need to understand that EITHER the word/ deals and / or the grantees of the west are worth something or they are not !!
And here we can clearly see what such guarantees with the west is worth, it has been 8 years now since Russia invaded Ukraine in the east of the country and annexed parts of Ukraine in Crimea AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED so now Russia is going all inn and taking everything THE CAN!!
That is the result of worthless grantees !!
And here's something the WEST is clearly overlooking ; Taiwan , Israel and everyone else is also asking the question; CAN I TRUST THE WEST TO HOLD TO THEIR WORD AND STAND BY THE GUARANTEES THEY GIVE ! and not just Taiwan and Israel, is right now asking themselves those questions, but even small eastern European NATO member states that border Russia, will be asking themselves those questions as well !! IT'S ABOUT TRUST YOU LOSE TRUST YOU LOSE EVERYTHING!!
And her is the real kicker ; Also Iran, North Korea and China will be seeing what is going on and soon they will be thinking the west is weak; And the will be thinking and saying things like, just look what the west did when Russia was calling out their bluff about red lines in Ukraine ... The time is now, we have our chance to stick it to them !!!!
And then we will see China take Taiwan (so no more silicon-chips for you ) and then we will see Iran take Israel (middle east oil all gone and the middles east up in fire ) And when North Korea goes into South no more south Korea as north will take it over as well !!
SO YOUR OPTIONS ARE ,TO TAKE A STAND NOW OR LATER !!
