Nor should you. Why should a limited number of people own a planet on which the numbers of residents keeps growing? It sets up permanent poverty for nearly all of those who are descended from those who don't own land.

@EasiestSolve - Then the 0.1% will buy nearly all available land. Then each will build one home on it. From then on, nobody else will ever be able to buy land. Oh, that sounds so great, having 0.1% - which won't include you(!) - owning all the untaxed land and you there having no way to encourage them to sell it. By the way, you should look at how much of Britain is STILL owned by the royal families. It has a negative impact on the country.

You don't own the Earth, you rent it. That's a fact of life. You think you can sit on valuable land forever? Prevent anyone from ever using it because in the past you once paid up some money? That's ignorant. Nobody in history ever kept their title forever, not even kings and queens.

@ - Three years? Well, yeah. Should they wait fifty? I think the state should have an option where you have 90 days to initiate a reverse mortgage and 90 more to complete, something like that. Limited land for ever-growing population should never be a permanent property of anybody.

@ - Who are you to tell 99.9% of the planet that they will never own land? Because that is what happens when there is no cost to monopolizing land. Taxes make it possible for people to buy homes. If property taxes never existed, YOU would have never been able to buy your land.

When Biden said he would change that and go for the wealthier cheats (and that's where the most revenue is stolen), the conservatives went apesh*t crazy. As Trump believes, "Crime is good for me, but not for thee."
