  1.  @vinayravi9343  - Hog wash. That's like saying transporting heavy machinery by hand works if done on right scale. The whole reason this does NOT work is because of the negligible efficiency which only takes effect after deployment at massive scale. If one scales ANY inefficient process it eventually succeeds in the primary goal, if all things remain equal. But they don't remain equal. Do you have any idea how much energy and water is wasted by this technique? Mind you, the officials could use electrostatic precipitators or mechanical filters - which work much more efficiently - or they simply STOP THE BURNING OF FIELDS. Water droplets are not efficient. The water technique has a low rate of collisions between pollutants and droplets. Heck, if they would at least statically charge the droplets it would even work better.

  2. So, India burns fossil fuels and releases that pollution in order to power water cannons that are very ineffective at cleaning the atmosphere. Brilliant! Trade one problem for another.

  3. This ridiculousness reminds me of the countries that had workers disinfecting sidewalks and the walls of buildings during COVID. What an EXTREME and POLLUTING waste of resources.

  4.  @blazingguyop  - WRONG! 97% of Earth's water is salt water. A lot of the remaining fresh water is inaccessible for use (deep underground or frozen at the poles and in high-altitude glaciers).

  6.  @blazingguyop  - That is a bit like the USA, where the Mid-West power plants pump out pollution through tall smokestacks, sending it downwind to the East Coast where it forms acid rain. Some forests have been rather affected by it over the decades, but many "patriots" of the Mid-West couldn't give a flying f--- about their country, only themselves. Common human behavior, easily exploited by the powerful people who benefit from it.

  7. @@Xargs-kh8uo - Well, I don't know how it helped but glad it did. As for me, I am NOT dealing with a lot right now, but there is a lot dealing with me because of my failure. So, I finally started revisiting some helping tools - videos on stoicism and motivation, which are not all perfect but certainly remind me to focus on what I control. I can't expect others to help me or care about me. Humanity is not typically heroic and I need to look to myself to help myself. It's not about fair or not fair. It's about what will get me through each moment better. I guess that applies to those caught in the pollution, too. Fair or unfair, what can they do? For some, it seems not much can be done. But, my being sad about that won''t fix it, so I am moving on to dealing with my own problems now. Hey, good luck! :-D
