@rohitdhaka4226 - Well, it's not a problem until it is. That's how history has rolled. People thought the Muslim extremists were nothing until they became a huge problem for the world. Let's hope the problem of Hindu zealism goes away, but it will only go away if the energy for it is diverted elsewhere in a constructive manner.

No, it is not. In Switzerland, people have DE FACTO religious freedom, not just a system of empty words. Mobs don't accuse someone of blasphemy and kill them. Extrajudicial murders are not considered a good thing by half of the country. The press is not suppressed by the federal government. It is not common to find people who believe in castes. Sadly, India has generations to go before it will ever be the Asian equivalent of Switzerland, regardless of geography.

If religious zealots were not so crazy in India (and Pakistan), you could have a peaceful, unified India with Pakistan part of it. Unfortunately, that is not how things evolved there.

Don't be too confident in that assessment. If India had the economic and military power of the US, it would start using its military more and more. Modi himself would have no problem with mass murder. He has already shown his acceptance of mass murder and terror of the majority in India.

@preetamyadav7952 - All religion is a crock, though the Koran has sections that are quite threatening to people who are not Muslims. And, as we know, the nastier believers of any religion focus on the parts of their books that justify violence and cruelty.

@prateeksharma6706 - That does not give nearly a strong amount of "control", since other nations clearly have a bigger say in the matter. Indonesia and Malaysia are the main powers affecting the straits, not a nation controlling islands far from the entrance. Also, cntrol means you can keep the straits *open*, free of interference from aggressive state navies and pirates. This requires international cooperation. Occupying islands won't give you that. I would agree, thought, that occupying such islands at least means another country does not. However, with China extending its presence in foreign ports, building artificial islands and building out its navy, including having aircraft carrier operations, island occupation still does not eliminate Chinese occupation.

Well, India IS safer than Thailand for people who believe in freedom of speech. In Thailand, you can't speak the truth about the king. If you do, you get in very big trouble.

@ROHITTHAKUR-xw4ye - In other words, I think and I am honest. I worked with Indians. I heard them talk of castes. Last names alone can tell you a lot about how they treated each other. I saw how they verbally abused women at work. Their culture is on public display, wherein women must walk behind the men. And I know of the excuses given for this behavior. They are the excuses of trapped minds, raised to believe in their limited fates.

The Security Council is based on those in power keeping power. Until India develops enough influence to essentially force its way onto the Security Council, it won't be on the Council.

You are not speaking for the large number of people who want their Hindu religion to dominate others. Religions suck because people too often suck. All ideologies turn into weapons. It is sad. India's ascendance from being a forgotten third-rate country is manifesting in resentment that is easily manipulated by populists. The BJP is at the forefront of this threat.

@kaustubhraizada - Sea-skimming hypersonic missiles are now changing that story. The moment in history is upon us where aircraft carriers will lose soon their value. Even if a hypersonic missile disintegrates half of a mile from its target, the kinetic energy is so extreme that it will still impact its target with tremendous force. Likewise for manned submarines. We are heading into the era of rapid, never-ending change. There will be times when this leads to chaos.
