  5. IIRC, she had said she the gloves she had been using were not the proper gloves. She took a chance with cutting corners (again, IIRC, she said this while healthy enough to record her story). This video does not mention that.

  6. IIRC, she later said she knew, but she was basically in denial. I could swear I read that in actual comments she made. I need to get back to work, otherwise I would check the internet vs my memory. I had read about this in a popular magazine. In fact, I am disappointex the presenter told the story in sensationalist style. He spun the story so it was like a mystery. It was not.

  8. You can have countless half-life periods in a row, so the joke is actually premised incorrectly. First half-life gets you to 1/2 the original amount, second gets you to 1/4, third half-life gets you to 1/8, etc.

  9. I almost fell off that peak. I ran uphill from a lookout point to a better vantage point. I had to go between some very large boulders. Even though I lived at 7,000 feet at USAFA at the time, running uphill at maybe 11,000 feet made me light-headed. I was running between a few boulders when suddenly I came to a cliff. Two more paces and I might have gone over. You only need 30 feet to die, this was 10 to 100 times that distance, so my life was almost extinguished. In retrospect, I was foolish. The mountain looks generally cliff-free, but "generally" does not apply to each spot and I almost found that out in a horrifying fashion.
