@madhavpulivendala6266 - For half a BILLION years, countless fish, crustaceans, insects, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and birds have been pissing into the ocean EVERY DAY. That's a lot of piss. I wouldn't worry about a couple of liters of (sterile) piss.

Urine? Pshaw! Much worse can happen. I've seen kids swim in a cloud of "traveler's bowel distress" while snorkeling in Xel Ha lagoon. That is much worse than urine. Have you seen bits of bowel discharge float into someone's hair? Beyond the discomfort, awful urgency, and fear of being embarrassed, I had to laugh after it happened to me. Though, I still showered extremely thoroughly immediately afterwards. I used a LOT of my shampoo. I was swimming in Xel Ha lagoon when I had a sudden attack of traveler's diarrhea. It happened just after three FULL buses of tourists arrived and they all queued for the bathroom. My only option was to swim to a solitary spot in the lagoon, as the problem was resolving itself one way or another. I let it out about 4-5 feet underwater and immediately experienced total horror as I saw a cloud of bits of dissolving brown and lots of brown liquid envelope me. If my heart could have jumped out the top of my skull, it would have. I screamed through my snorkel but nobody heard me (especially since I was underwater). Immediately out of breath due to the scream, I still backstroked underwater and kicked away so fast, I would have beaten Phelps himself. As I flung myself away in panic, I saw the cloud entrail itself in my wake and follow me! It was like being chased by the Brown Ghost of Death as it tried to encircle my (at least formerly) beautiful, sun-kissed head of hair. Finally, the cloud stopped following me dispersed as I kept swimming. Of course, this probably took place in 3 seconds or less but time slowed down when it happened. Out of breath, I surfaced, looked around, and nobody was near me except some chubby kid approaching me. He swam right past me, eager to explore the lagoon. He suddenly surfaced excitedly and urgently called over his friend to see the amazing group of fish that was feeding on "little bits of food floating everywhere in the water." I just kept my mouth shut - until I reached my friend and had a really funny laugh. So, urine? Ha! Much worse can happen.

Agree. Also, who CARES about the expense to the carnies? If the toy is more valuable to you than your money, then it is a good purchase for you. There is no rule in life that says you can only happily benefit from a transaction if someone else loses (or at best, wins no more than you)!

@eliaskjrbo8142 - True. I remember some kids who did a great job, but some engineer built his kid the winning car. Even then, the tracks we used definitely had imperfections so whoever raced down the best track each heat typically won that heat, all the way through the finals.

You CANNOT buy a 45 cent plush toy on eBay and get it delivered to your home. PLUS, you have to shop for it, AND you have to wait for it. Sometimes, when you're out at a social event, getting something immediately is not just something you want due to failure of discipline, it is because the instant reward also benefits someone else, plus you have a souvenir. Most people like souvenirs. If you lack emotional attachment to anything physical related to memories, good for you. For most people, the whole experience to be enjoyed is not one of trying to wring out every last penny from someone. That's sad to most people.

It can instinctively sense various components of blood that are common to mammals (like seals) and even fish (less common to humans, but still related).

At this point, maybe they should have all kids build their cars in a few meetings so nobody has advantages. Let a few lucky kids with involved Dads get their quality time with Dad in some other activity while the kids learn to do things on their own and with the company of their peers.

Also, don't shoot a Neti pot up your nose using the local water. (Actually, you should NEVER do that unless it's sanitized and preferably distilled water.) If do that, you risk Fowlerii amoebas (amoebae?) entering your brain.

Hmmm. How important is that? I wonder if robust and useful research exists on that relationship. It would be hard to do meaningful research in the field, but surely some has been done in a lab.
