  1.  @Jinxs-Journey  - To be fair, toys and goods do not come under FDA authority. That only makes things worse, as it means the US has MULTIPLE agencies not enforcing laws in the interest of the common good. EPA, FCC, DOJ, etc.

  5. Sorry, but regulators are not subject to pressure? It comes in many ways. Plus, working with people you regulate will ALWAYS bring up the issue of empathy for those you are close to. You can't help it. It's one reason lobbyists want face time. Just meeting someone makes it less likely they will regulate you as rigidly.

  6. One threat such as corruption does not make the threat of dying due to a virus disappear. You have to balance the consequences of failing to stop one or the other. The virus takes priority.

  7. Enforcement is not regulation. Kind of like how we have laws against bribery, but politicians are exempt.Like how we have laws against fraud, but CEOs rarely go to prison. Like how companies are never asked to admit guilt for breaking the law. Like how the supreme law of the land, the Constitution, is not enforced every time the US goes to war, whoops, police action, whoops, armed conflict, never mind. Like how SCOTUS literally says businesses have the same rights as people. We have laws saying otherwise, but they are not enforced or so adjudged by our own courts. It's all a show, but don't deny the script is there, well written with regulations.

  10. The CDC owns the patents because the US taxpayer paid for the research going into the vaccines. Only a jerk would want to hand that patent over to private business. SOMEBODY gets to own the patent, so why not We the People?
