If a mother is about to die from her pregnant condition as she enters childbirth and the baby is known to have problems that make it impossible to survive, then she should be able to abort the baby and go on to raise a family in the future. Killing a woman to ""save"" a stillbirth is just plain cruelty in the form performative righteousness. Yet, the question as posed ignores the problem of real cases like this. A woman aborting a fetus moments before childbirth is a ridiculous think to bring up. Does it even happen once a year on this planet? Yet, medical emergencies do occur during pregnancy and childbirth - women die every year all around the globe EVERY DAY from them, including post-childbirth events like stroke DUE to the childbirth. So, ignoring all that in the conversation leads to ridiculous and useless discussions like asking about abortion right before childbirth. Some here claim that was just a question to establish a basic position, but the question ignores the reality of the situations that can lead to trying to save the woman.

They are not significantly different than an early-stage fetus. Just a blob of cells, no four-chambered heart, no functioning brain, no thoughts or personality. Those are things people use to decide if something is a human, not just DNA.

EVERY political party ends up with literally multiply conflicted positions because they don't choose positions based on morality or ethics. They triangulate, one flash problem at a time, and their followers will be outraged by the "opposition" when their own political party could have easily sold these followers on the very position they oppose.   25. No, it is because people like YOU think you can decide what people feel and think rather than having honest dialogue to find out. But then, you can't expect honest dialogue from human beings. Humans will block out some truths and create others due to fear. Religion proves that every day. EVERY religion is known to be wrong by the vast majority of the world, but each person thinks their own is right. Think about that. Clearly, humans can't handle the truth. So, start with that reality and try to figure out how much truth you can get them to face. When you do that, you realize you need to use sources of information that BOTH sides can agree on as reliable. I find that human empathy motivates most morality as well as the focus of where they prefer to apply reason. Regardless, don't ever dare to decide for others their reality. As history and the current moment will always prove, doing that won't help you, won't give you the truth, and only offends the others from who you would take their agency to organically feel without your approval or input.

Humans are set apart from other organisms by sentience (you can dither about the details). A Homo Sapiens sperm cell is not a human. Likewise, neither an egg, zygote, or embryo is a human. Despite the simpleton view of so many people, there are pretty much no black-and-white boundaries in the world. Humans share the majority of their genes with earth worms. It doesn't make the worms human or vice versa. There is no firm cutoff. Clearly, though, an embryo that lacks a brain or a four-chambered heart is not nearly a human. It is an embryo. In fact, it's a very good reason for the word existing! We don't say "nano human", we say embryo. No human four-chambered heart and no brain <> human.

  42. You wouldn't know intelligence from pseudo-intelligence. To evaluate intelligence, you should be intelligent. You need to be fully skeptical of ALL people you hear, not just the ones you distrust. You need to think critically and challenge with questions, all the time and not just when its someone not on your political "football team". You need to demand evidence, logic and use evidence and logic to even evaluate your prior evidence and logic. If you think the people you listed, particularly RFK, Trump and DeSantis, are reliable with the truth, you are lacking in those things I mentioned.

Such questions are part of the reason the abortion debate is a hot topic. Btw, the Christian Bible and the Torah CLEARLY consider ending a pregnancy to be less than murder. There are literally two highly different punishments for murder and causing the loss of a fetus. The latter is considered a much more minor issue. So, if you oppose abortion as murder, it is most certainly NOT because you are a devout Jewish or Christian who believes in the holy text. Is it science, because science certainly would not classify a few cells as humans, not even a human fetus that looks like a tadpole would qualify as "a human". Given all this, can't you see how reasonable people might think that saving a woman's life is acceptable even if it means allowing a dying fetus to die?

First let's find out WHAT was done, rather than vague accusations and assumptions. You attribute bad intent to people quite easily. It fits your fear-needing-a-cause agenda, but that doesn't make it right. If you attribute bad intent to people, you better have proof for it, otherwise you're just being slimy. So, why are you accusing the FBI agents of bad intentions? And remember, plenty of people - including MANY high-profile preachers and pastors - have been considered good, even Godly, people before they were proven to be molesters, fraudsters, and other types of criminals.
