HBs may have evolved to do that because running would be a poor survival strategy for them. They can't run quickly enough to make the effort worth it, so they conserve energy. Plus, running all out might trigger an instinctive pursuit response in the leopard, even after they gave up their fight.

Wow! Ignorance can really get you killed.

Did you notice the eagle or warthog?

This should have been the top-rated commented here. That was honey badger's breakout moment! I had to scroll down countless comments just to find this! BTW, the original line was in slang, saying "honey badger" like a single creature's name, not plural.

Honey badger don't care. Honey badger don't give a shit partly because honey badger has incredibly thick and foldable skin that makes it hard for the cats to precisely and forcefully separate or break the badgers cervical vertebrae, or even choke off the trachea. Of course, honey badger don't even give that a thought, because Honey badger don't care. Honey badger don't give a shit.

Given the honey badger reputation, I was worried for any male leopards in that group. I have read that badgers have been known to bite down on the predators b*lls. At 0:33 to about 0:43, sometimes a leopard will rise up, exposing itself. If the badger was willing to risk another grapple, it could go for in a bite. Not sure if that exposed leopard was the mom, though. So, nothing to bite there in such case.

I enjoyed the video. So did others. If you didn't, tough luck. Would I like steadier camera work? Yes, but it's interesting anyway.
