Not everyone can play the same droned out Homogenized game if it's just someone selling a Protestant work ethic who knows gambling is how you retire.. not hard work. The talent can't always be the manager. We do not live in a vaccum and you are making excuses for abstract poverty and the "bootstrap" fallacy. Accountability in a system? It's not personal. You are not superior for being a worker bee or white collar drone.

I think your view of drug addiction and homelessness is based on the bootstrap fallacy and like many other variables you didn't account for I still think you are just using austerity as an excuse to avoid helping the less fortunate in a system that essentially praises gambling over work ethic.. No carrot.. No ambition.. Not all of us align to keep up with the joneses.. That is a platitude at this point. Chasing money is an unhealthy addiction as well.. You are selling this as if its new.. Its systematic.. The system is accountable for the oversights of humanity and excuses is how it becomes a living nightmare for people you want to "help".. doctor.. The government just made a rail strike illegal? That is not what you meant by "government help"?
