No, it is caused by greed. The reason why the pyramid scheme falls flat is because the farmer and cell phone provider becomes an oligarchy acting as gatekeepers to make a profit off of something we use willy nilly. Consumer practices cause inflation, supply and demand causes inflation, buying something for whatever price it is at causes inflation because they knew you would have to buy it.. You are overlooking greed.
