I feel like the ones that do go well stay classified longer so there’s a bit of bias there.

I lived in Haiti for a bit in 2001. My aunt and uncle moved there for most of the year in the mid-90's and are still in country. They currently live about 10 kilometers from the airport in Port au Prince but when they need to travel they take a helicopter from their compound to the airport because it isn't safe to drive that distance. The place was a mess when I was there, but it has fallen a long way from there to being an absolute shit show. I'd love to see the Haitian people pull themselves out of it, but they are in a super deep hole. Bonus, I now live in southern Israel and get to see a totally different conflict up close. Fun times! hahahaha

Fun fact, when civilization was first developing in the region now known as Iraq, the whole area was green and lush. The ancient Babylonians followed a line of civilization that had already existed for several millennia. It was known that the climate was changing to more desert and saltier soil. They developed new technologies and closely managed water to counter the changes. The same cycle (the Malankovich cycle) made the Sahara a savanna region rich with grasses and animals. Ancient cave paintings prove humans lived there. We have another 3,000 years until it comes back but climate change may actually push us there sooner since the changes are related to hotter summer temperatures in the northern hemisphere.

@Jesus_was_God it is my country and, honestly, if you can’t find the humor, you’ll not make it through the war.

The crossover episode no one saw coming.

Agreeing to an end to fighting means agreeing to an end to their own power. No Arab leader can tolerate that.
19
I appreciate your informative videos. Sending my thanks from southern Israel.

I used to work in submarine design. We used to say that the Russian submarine design was based on the cry "You can't sink our sub" while the American design philosophy was "You can't sink us if you can't find us."
13
@nuancematters Adventure I suppose. 😂

@goober7535 Actually it's all correct. Look up the North Africa Humid Period and Malenkovitch cycles. This isn't secret knowledge, it's well known fact.

The US does send a bill. The aid mostly comes in the form of discounts on purchases of American made kit. The money goes to a factory worker in North Carolina, not a cafe owner in Tel Aviv.

“An army marches on its stomach.” ~ some famous short dude

Thanks for the reporting, but our capital is not Tel Aviv, it is Jerusalem.

@khairulhelmihashim2510 so it never once occurred to you that Palestinians, who passed a law making it a capital offense to sell property to a Jew, who openly cheer the deaths of Jews worldwide, who’s government literally pays a stipend to the family of people who hurt Jews based on how badly they are injured with the death of a Jew being the highest paid, may not actually want Jews in this envisaged future state?
6
@loumcast wow you are crazy. That is an absurdly ignorant take
5
@loumcast you are lying or ignorant. If you don’t like being called a liar or an ignoramus then you need to learn.
5
Friendly fire happens in war. It always has.
5
@Kai-vo5zq Then why is every poor and oppressed person in the world risking their life trying to emigrate to Europe and the US? Seems like they can't get enough colonialism.
4
No. Syria invaded Israel and then lost the war. Losing territory is something that can happen when you declare war.
4
Because it is strategically important
4
Thank you. We love India.

It's definitely a complicated situation that is probably too easy to lay judgment on from the outside. Seeing time and again how strong leaders become dictators gives many of us a new appreciation for people like George Washington who could easily have done the same but instead chose to pass the torch to others.
3
@wyattblessing7078 so did the mongols.
3
@loumcast Your lies and ignorance are unconvincing. I know the history well. You clearly do not.

I once had a guy "warn" me "Now the government has your picture!" I mean... man, I have a driver's license. I know the government has my picture; I literally stood there while they took it.
3
Except for the whole fact that Israel is an independent nation, not a state divided into three parts.
3
Seems likely

Because political Islam is a fundamentally theocratic-fascistic enterprise.
3
@helloimskip you’re correct and that guy is a troll

No

Hot damn that flight simulator seat giveaway is amazing, or, as they say here in Israel "אש" aesh... meaning "fire"
2
@caracallaavg True, but a lot of those are of Ukrainian descent. Also, most of the Russian descendants left Russia for a reason.

@IFRYRCE The entire Arab world is an extremely diverse community. It is not possible to piss them all off.

@enriqueperalta6059 Israel and Israelis love India. Something like 20% of the population of Israel have lived in India for at least half a year. It is extremely common to go there for extended trips. There are also extensive business and academic ties. India has one of the oldest Jewish communities outside of the Middle East.

@enriqueperalta6059 My country is a parliamentary democracy. That means that the government is a coalition of members of parties that get the most votes. In the most recent election, I voted for the party led by Yair Lapid who is not a member of the current government. In previous elections, I have voted for Benny Gantz who has joined the temporary "war cabinet." This new coalition started after the war and have agreed to pass only legislation relevant to the current war. Along with Gantz comes Gadi Eisencott; both of whom were former secretary of defense. Netanyahu did not put the most extreme members of his coalition on the war cabinet. I think that the current mix is appropriate and I am confident there will be an election with far reaching consequences shortly after the war is over.

Thanks for the info. You could stand to work on your Hebrew pronunciation. :) hahahahaha....

Maybe they're just all psyched for Civilization VII. Those games often have special achievements for killing modern units using ancient arms.

Thank you for the coverage. Nice work.

Excellent analysis. Keep this up and you’ll start sounding like perun.
1
No, it doesn’t work like that. Israel is fighting its own war.

Damn. I want one.

Literally the oldest written record of a battle is from one in Israel at Har Magiddo (where “Armageddon” comes from)

FWIW, before October 7, a big reason why Israel didn’t support Ukraine more was because Israel didn’t want to risk loss of the deconfliction mechanism in Syria. Ukraine entering the region changes that dynamic.

Does winning a war very quickly count?
1
Excellent review. Remember back when Trump floated ditching the EMALS system after it's design was nearly complete? Hahahaha.... good times...

Hear, hear

Your pronunciation of Israeli towns was actually pretty decent. Thanks for the even handed reporting. Happy new year from southern Israel. Also, my commute goes right by that air base they claim to have hit. I’ll take a look next week on my way to work.

The term can apply to a broader geographic region, only some of which is held by Israel.
