  2. Hamas had a 30% approval rating in a recent poll. I've heard Gazans interviewed since the attack who say that they don't blame Hamas at all. Al Jazeera reports that the people of Gaza are "rallying around" the party. They aren't just hostages.

  3. I imagine something like Japan after WWII. Israel can write a constitution for Gaza, insist that they have no military at all, and then watch over it as neighbor state. Of course, Israel can't even write a constitution for itself so that's not going to happen.
