  1. Israel is still focused on them. What happened was that Israel rescued some hostages, then Sinwar issued orders to kill hostages if IDF got close, then the IDF did and Hamas murdered six hostages. The only places left in Gaza are small pockets where Israel doesn’t want to risk more hostages being killed so it has paused the advance, focused on intel gathering in Gaza and reoriented to address the threat from the north.
