  2.  @MendeMaria-ej8bf  Why in the world should it be “proportionate?” You make it sound like “proportionate” is supposed to evenly weigh the dead on each side. That’s not what that means in the laws of war. “Proportionate” in the laws of war means that risk to civilian life is weighed against the expected military gain. If Hamas is placing fighters and equipment among civilians then, yes, Israel’s response absolutely is proportionate.
