  1. SMRs don’t make a ton of sense for China with industrialization heavily concentrated in specific areas. SMRs make sense for small to medium sized countries like the gulf states purchasing the tech from private companies out of the west. Pebble beds actually make a bit more sense for China but they aren’t hugely different from Canada’s CanDU reactors that can also handle online refueling.

  2.  @richardbaird1452  I am aware that pebble beds are very different. My claim is that the primary motivation driving the development of pebble bed reactors is online refueling. That particular feature is also possible in CanDU reactors.
