Not A Pound For Air To Ground

Comments by "Ggoddkkiller" (@ggoddkkiller1342) on "Greece's Attempted Airborne Assault On Cyprus Was A Brave, But Disastrous Failure" video.
During that time there was a general belief as Turks were bluffing and couldn't launch an operation while US and NATO were against it. There were only two governments actively warning, obviously Turkish government and British government. Turkish PM even personally went to UK and offered them a joint operation to remove EOKA terrorists from power. But they refused as it might had caused another Greek war against British forces on the island. Turkish PM called back home and gave the password for operation to begin without even waiting to return. I really doubt Lebanon actually offered such a thing as Turkey would certainly consider it as an act of war and even launch airstrikes against their airfields. Turkish army had this 'zero tolerance' mindset back then too and would retaliate for any direct involvement regardless which country it was. This was also why Greek forces destroyed their own planes so their involvement couldn't be noticed. I understand some people might find it too harsh but Turkish government warned literally everybody in UN then in NATO then went to UK and offered a joint operation plan. Not like they chose war instantly but all they could get was 'bla bla bla' while an extremist organization seized the government and Turkish Cypriots were actively targeted! After it became a war everything was on table, if US directly involved Turkish army would even target US forces. That's why US personals in Turkey like İncirlik base began wearing body armors and trying to fortify their barracks by blocking windows and doors..

@FYMASMD It seems like you misunderstood something, as a guarantor state of Cyprus Turkey had every right to intervene when an extremist organization staged a coup. In fact you can't find a single UN resolution condemning Turkish operation. Even then if US directly involved to protect Cyprus against international laws there was no way on Earth Turkey could watch it rather there was going to be a retaliation 100%. So correct sentence should be US was smart enough to not get involved.. There wasn't a single Turkish operation in last 100 years which was against international laws, not a single one. But there were many in US side like fabrication of WMD in Iraq? Acting against UN resolutions?? Not only starting wars one after another also directly supporting more illegal wars which even include war crimes! But even then it is always Turkish side acting aggressive, violating international laws etc while poor US is only trying to preserve the world order if you are foolish enough to believe it ofc.

@christbanner3219 At your last sentence you dropped your mask and showed your true self with 'typical narcissistic-nationalistic and islamic' nonsense! First of all Turkey never displaced anybody, Greek Cypriots decided to migrate into the south exactly same as almost 100,000 Turkish Cypriots decided to migrate into the north. You mention about Greek Cypriots but completely forgot about Turkish Cypriots for obvious reasons. Then secondly quote a single UN resolution condemning Turkish operation, a single one! If what you claimed was true UN would condemn Turkish operation without any question but ofc you might know what UN thinks without they declaring anything for obvious reasons again. You also didn't mention Turkish 'invasion side' actually accepted an UN plan with 65% in 2004 and if Greek side also accepted it the island was united today. But sadly Greek side refused it by 75% of votes while claiming a neutral UN plan was gifting Cyprus to Turkey that only God knew how exactly! Care to explain why 'invasion forces' accepted an UN plan to reunite the island, what kind of invasion force is this exactly?? But i'm sure you will struggle to explain because they don't teach such 'irrelevant details' in your schools..

@apokos8871 I see you don't know the difference between a resolution and a report even if you brag about international laws so much? And we see the reason why because you literally copy-paste from BSpedia, lmao! But no worries i will explain your mistakes, first of all never ever use BSpedia as a source because those articles are edited by random people without any reliability. I didn't quote the statement of UN spokesman from an unreliable third source rather UN themselves.. Secondly you gotta learn the difference between a report and a resolution, reports are written by a handful people and they might project their political views in them as we see in this example. While resolutions are adopted by a majority vote and they become official statements of UN on the subject issues. It is true there was such a report but UN never ever adopted it as a resolution and even UN spokesman stated this crystal clear. But you might continue believing BSpedia that a random person edited somehow.. Then comes the fact in my original message i said "Then secondly quote a single UN resolution condemning Turkish operation, a single one!" which is obviously about Turkish intervention on Cyprus. But you are trying to bring a subject completely irrelevant to my message. In a desperate attempt to prove me wrong but even your this irrelevant claim is entirely wrong. I guess you couldn't find anything at all as i stated in my message. You people might act like Turkey is violating international laws as much as you wish but the truth is there, that Turkey is one of countries which respects international laws the most. Keep digging and digging perhaps you would find another 'proof' :)

@apokos8871 "UN spokesman Farhan Haq on October 5, 2000 when he confirmed that the UN has not approved or endorsed a report labeling the Armenian experience as genocide." This is the most recent UN announcement about the dispute, you should listen to your advice and research way more before claiming something..
18
@apokos8871 What happened to university professors? And even if you ask me to click on those 'original sources' you never did it yourself! Because those 'original sources' don't exist, some of them don't even work while others lead to third party pages without slightest source or evidence present! You are so clueless what you are talking about which is the real reason why you are treated like this..
14
@apokos8871 You should be a comedian, i literally proved with UN quotes that BSpedia page is wrong while you are still saying 'ask a university professors', LMAO! You don't need to be a professor to know a page that random people can edit is not a reliable source. But sure you need to have some intelligence, as sadly we can see here..
13
@apokos8871 Yeah, sure but how come you don't know it is just professors not university professors?? While i was in uni i never ever heard somebody saying 'university professors' after all professors have to be teaching in universities to be called as professors. Perhaps you don't even know professor is an academic rank! The fact you don't know such a simple thing says you didn't receive any university education, LMAO! I'm sorry but you are itching for trouble, constantly throwing ridiculous claims around which only prove how wrong you are..
11
@apokos8871 Again more mistakes, first of all not all post-secondary teachers are called professors at least in UK, Turkey and most of world. There is no academic rank standards so in your country perhaps you are calling all PS teachers professors who knows, but we don't. Then comes 'not all professors are working in universities' nonsense which is entirely false in everywhere on Earth! Professor is an academic RANK and you CAN NOT be a professor unless you are working in an university. Perhaps you are confusing it with phD and Doctor title. phD is not an academic rank rather an academic achievement and you can use Doctor title while working in different sectors. You don't know academic standards change from country to country, you don't know professor is an academic rank. I would still put all my money to that you never saw inside of an university. By the way did you notice how i wrote 'uni'? That's side affect of university education that we were shortening it as uni, uni constantly so i unconsciously wrote uni. A person who actually spent 4-5 years in an university wouldn't say a total nonsense as 'university professors', LMAO! Yep, i will continue using it because i'm really laughing here at your ridiculous claims. Since your first message you have been fabricating things constantly from UN resolutions and BSpedia is reliable to university education. And even if you are proven to be wrong many times you are still claiming you are right which is really funny, you are a special kind my friend))
11
@apokos8871 Here comes even more mistakes as usual, during the part you explained how i couldn't abbreviate as uni i was laughing so bad because you can't even imagine we are abbreviating it as 'üni' which is same as English version expect extra two dots ofc and even pronounced exactly same, LMAO! Then your research professor claim was literally cherry on top which made me laugh so much. Where do you think research staff including research professors of universities are working in? Perhaps i should give some answer choices and make it easier for you: A) Private sector B) Government C) Military D) Space force E) UNIVERSITIES I think everybody should be able to find the correct answer but i'm not sure about you, LMAO!! Research professors also work in universities so your claim that 'not all professors are working in universities' is ENTIRELY WRONG in every way. Honestly i didn't laugh this much in a long time so i guess i should thank you. You are the best mate, keep up good work i'm sure you will have a successful career as a comedian..

@cringeboi66cringus99 Yeah, it really did. TAF pilots actually realized it was a Turkish destroyer from flag and markings (You can bet USS Liberty 'confusion' is a lie) and reported it back but TAF high command still ordered the strike. The ship's location was matching the intel they got and Greece had a lot of same WW2 American destroyers as well so they decided Greeks were trying to make their destroyer look like Turkish. The armed forces was on high alert and would really target anything supporting Cyprus, at least the coordination was greatly increased after that incident.

@KenanTurkiye The country's name has been always "Türkiye cumhuriyeti" since it was established in 1923. So there was never a name change, however Turkish government was using Turkey English translation in UN and NATO same as many other countries. Turkish government applied to UN and changed it to its real name Türkiye, this was the only change. Any UN or NATO official has to use Türkiye anymore as they all do but a random civilian can use Turkey or any other translation they have in their local languages, it doesn't matter.

@apokos8871 I'm acting disrespectful because you are making zero sense and claiming such ridiculous things like 'ask university professors', seriously what kind of nonsense is this? And i can tell even if you ask me to click on those sources you never did it yourself. Because those 'original articles' don't exist, click on those links yourself to see some of them don't even work while others lead to third party sites like 'imtellingthetruthbro' without slightest historical source nor evidence. But such ridiculous sites can be used as a source for BSpedia, this alone shows how ridiculous BSpedia actually is without any reliability at all! Go click on those links then come back to argue please because you aren't even funny anymore rather acting just pitiful..

@andreksjour In none of those UN quotes it is stated TRNC is a puppet state of Turkey, they blame Turkey nor condemn Turkey for its establishment at all!! Turkish Cypriots established TRNC and Turkey recognized it to be able to fully support them officially. If Turkey was really trying to split the island would actively lobby for its recognition from other countries. But even if decades passed there has never been such an effort, in fact the opposite happened and Turkish side accepted an UN plan in 2004. And if Greek side also accepted it the island was united today. Care to explain why exactly Greek side refused a neutral UN plan and how exactly Turkish 'invasion' side accepted it?? You are just full of cheap excuses. For example there is absolutely no difference between establishment of TRNC and Kosovo, in fact TRNC has a legal base as a part of Cyprus government had to be Turkish before it was changed wrongly so they claim they are this Turkish part. While Kosovo has no legal base what so ever but somehow you are fine with Turkey and many other countries recognizing Kosovo but somehow recognizing TRNC is trying to split the island. Nobody has to live stateless because other side has been blocking all kind of agreements and plans including even UN ones. And if there was some justice in this world, after Greek side refused the UN plan Turkish side would had received more support. But sadly there isn't any justice so they didn't, Turkey will continue trying to find a diplomatic solution but we won't do it forever and can even annex TRNC if all other options fail. If you think international community will punish Turkey you are badly mistaken. It will be same as the operation that they will issue some weak embargoes, in fact Greece protested weak western respond and suspended their NATO membership for many years. Turkey doesn't do it not because it can't, rather because there is nothing valuable in Cyprus. This isn't a video game that all lands are valuable and generate profit, rather in reality Turkey has been loosing billions of dollars supporting TRNC!! So Turkey would rather the island is united and booming with tourism. Perhaps you have no idea but Cyprus was one of the top tourism destinations in Med before the war. But likelihood of an agreement is getting decreased every year, at this rate best option will be a two state solution while even that is pretty low chance. Turkey would mostly likely annex it in few decades then you can cry as much as you want but nobody will care tho..
