It indeed has some purpose for increasing radar coverage but it also has huge trade offs like becoming a stationary target anymore which defeats entire purpose of systems like Pantsir. For example my country Turkey uses a lot of anti-drone towers with their own radars and optical sensors but they are considerably small systems not 40 tons pantsir vehicles. It is just ridiculous and waste of equipment i think but it looks like russkies can't even build some simple anti-drone systems..
