When there is such a dictator like assad who killed hundreds of thousands of Syrians people stay in rebel areas even if there is very limited support and aid! And the worst of he is trying to pressure them more even after such major earthquakes which only makes people hate him more. There are over 5 million Syrians mostly displaced in rebel controlled areas, another 6 million are refugees 3.6 million in Turkey who also suffered greatly as most of them live in quake hit area even then they will never return to government held Syria..
