How did his family react?

@Noac000Secular or not, I am sure that the Israelis get distressed when an Arab attacks any Israeli person or soldier.

@warnaoh It is not always sincere. Some say things that they do not mean just to seem open-minded.

They were hardly an example for marrying into their own faith themselves, so it is hardly surprising that you married someone from a completely different religion yourself, lisalisa.

There is a deep seated hatred and ignorance in ALL fanatics and fundamentalists. Terrorism has shown us this.

In many cases, people marry into their religion for cultural rather than religious reasons.

I am not trying to be aggressive here, but the main reason Israelis would not consider marrying Arabs is because of the tense political situation that exists in Israel between Arabs and Israelis, not because of particular adherence to Judaism or Islam. It is a bit like why a Catholic in Northern Ireland would not marry a Protestant - not because he is so enamoured and loyal to his religion, but more because his ancestors have always fought the ancestors of the other religion. Those in the video who say that a marriage between a Muslim and a Jew would not bother yhrm are saying g it only because they fo not want to appear biased. They WOULD mind; they just do not want to admit it.

@yochanan4261 It is sad if commonsense is downplayed because of political correctness. Political correctness has ruined rather than improved society and a lot of people fear speaking out because they do not know who "may be listening." The voice of instinct is always the best and should not be suppressed because of political correctness. No-one can run away from himself and the more he suppresses it, the harder it will come out to bite him. Political correctness is a scourge and a myth that can never work. It's intentions may be good, but they can never work because people will always be individual. Political correctness expects everyone to be the same. It is like expecting everyone to wear the same clothes and hairstyle all the time, saying that nothing else will suit them. Of course, that is not possible.

@tFighterPilot But if you live in Israel and you hear of a Jew marrying a Muslim, you tend to think that the Muslim is an Arab.

They w4ould mind if their children did it, I am sure. They just do not want to admit it.

This is a channel in which people are being asked questions and a chatroom exists in order to express opinions. This chatroom is for everybody, European, Middle-Eastern or anything else. No-one has to mind their own business.

Judaism and Islam may be similar in some ways, but, sadly, Islam is a bigger enemy of Judaism than any other religion because many Muslims are Arabs and Arabs hate Israel, which is the homeland for every Jew. I also think that a lot of the people in this video would be bothered if a Jew married a Muslim but they do not want to admit it.

Every religion is "exhausting" carrying a whole community's expectations. Being a Catholic and confessing to a priest your every sin cannot be easy, either. Practising everything that your faith requires is a massive challenge. The people in this video are very naive if they think that a marriage between an Arab and an Israeli is good, especially in Israel, when the two nations always fight each other. Imagine a conversation at the dinner table and someone suddenly brings up the subject of the situation in Israel. The Arab will defend his or her fellow Arabs and the Israeli his or her fellow Israelis. How can that be any good?
