If I was ever asked my age after the age of twenty, I was told not to answer. Therefore being single after a certain age DOES bring a lot of unwelcome curiosity.

  7. Unfortunately, we live in a society which still insists that a woman is nothing without a man. Those poor European women have been alone for too long and think that they can recreate romance with a man thirty years younger than them on a two-week holiday in a foreign country. The trouble is that that man rarely loves them; he uses them only to get a passport to the UK and then he abandons them. He may have even been married to a local girl before he start dating the much older European.

  11. Linda had clearly been catfished but what about the man whose photo the catfisher had used? That man might be married and a family friend or anyone else who knows him may one day log onto the Internet, think that that catfished man is looking for romance and tell that man's wife. That could ruin a marriage.

Usually, the society in which those women live is dirt poor and the women in particularly are poorly educated. You will find that this tragically happens even today in some places. In those places, people live primitively, therefore a woman is worth little more than a brood mare. Thankfully, many societies realise that women's education and rights are equal to those of men and do the women can expect more that just marriage and motherhood, but, as I mentioned earlier, thee are still many parts of the world in which a woman is worth nothing.

As for your assertion that no-one truly knows someone until they live with them, 2TMarie, there was a time when you never lived with someone before marrying them and would you say that you knew them better then than you would know the now?
