  2. All the while the Allies were wasting their time and money bombing Germany, in the single most expensive undertaking of the war, Stalin was laughing his arse off. While Churchill was elaborating how cities were flattened, and "soft underbellies" were invaded, Stalin was using ground forces to actually create a new status quo in Europe. Stalin knew that every outrageously expensive Lanc was "4 tanks" (4 Merlin engines), and ONLY ground forces created facts. Wonder why he was smiling all the time...
