Germany lost because the fought the war with the tactical concept of Blitzkrieg. This took a turn when GB refused to accept his offer of peace. The war turned .into a war about economics, for which you needed a strategic concept (bombing factories, raw maeterials, manpower, etc.). The Germans didn't realise that and carried on with their Blitzkrieg, which failed at the end of 1941.

romas011 Hitler was actually quite a good strategist (he knew Germany needed oil and other raw materials), but he didn't have the military might to impliment his ideas. He was a terrible tactician (i.e. battle planning). Your second point is correct, but that was due to geography (Japan) and ideology (basically all three).

2:20 Saying that Germany should have built more U-Boats before the war started makes no sense and ignores the logical conclusion that "every action causes a re-action". In other words, if Germany had put 300 or 400 u-boats in service by 1939, the Royal Navy would have built 500 or 600 escort vessels during the same time, nullifying the intention of beeing superior.

It is virtually impossible to do anything on that scale and keep it a secret. Building 300 subs in the space of 3-4 years would have taken up the majority of German shipbuilding capacity - British Secret Service would have to be sleeping to miss that!!

Difficult to listen to Example at 47:00 mins, "...only the USA expanded it's civilian sector...". What an idiotic conclusion. The USA was also the ONLY mayor nation NOT even remotely near the front lines.

At 25:00 mins, the difference between the production figures between Germany and the Allies is even greater if one considers the total amount of engines and total weight of the aircraft produced. In terms of engines, the total Allied effort put into the production of heavy bombers ALONE was already more than the entire (in terms of engines) German production. The Germans didn't stand a chance.
