  2. The word 'hero' is neutral. A point of view. At the time, they fought bravely, but for the wrong cause. I don't think many German vets still think of their struggle as 'heroic'.   5. Correct. Most likely called up, and most likely influenced by one sided propaganda. More important, is the reaction of people who are faced with reality when the event of war is over. After the war, the overwhelming majority of German vets knew and accepted that their cause was not just, and that they had been mislead to fight.....
