Pitt the Elder So you would approve if the other candidates make stupid proposals which they know they could never implement, all for the sake of getting stupid people to vote for them?
Do you want the election campaign to look like the Jerry Springer show? Is that what you really want?
Any candidate may now simply say any amount of bullshit, even if they know for a fact there isn't any conceivable way that what they say will EVER be implemented, because it wasn't a realistic proposal to start off with.
For example the 'building a wall' bull.
There is absolutely NO way that can and will EVER be built. Walls are ineffective, and if you disagree, then do some research on the border between the Spanish enclave of Mellila and Morocco. That's only a few miles long. It's several meters high, topped with barbed wire, cameras, electronics, the works. All the migrants do is pull up a few ladders and climb over.
It's an utterly crap idea to propose doing the same on a border THOUSANDS of miles long. He pulled it out of his arse, as you say, and Trump knows he's lying through his teeth. Even if he gets elected, there's just no way it will ever be built.
Then, he even goes on air and defends his plan.
Would you want somebody like that as president?
Aren't the ones you end up with bad enough? Does it have to get worse?

Pitt the Elder Well, why do you think the idea to build a wall doesn't pass congress?
Correct.
It isn't feasible.
It isn't possible to build a 2,000 mile long impregnable wall. Every mile would have to be as good as a high security prison. How much will that cost?
What about follow up costs like repairs, border patrols, training, and all that follows after that?
Bottom line, it's a stupid proposal that will NEVER pass ANY congress, even if Trump is president.
Trump knows that, yet he peddles this idea like a hooker, in order to fool dumb people.
Sure, every side makes promises they can't keep, but at least most of these promises were the basis of finding a compromise. Therefore, The Affordable Healthcare Act is not free, but affordable. I'd rather have 'affordable' as a result of compromise, than nothing at all...
As for Trump and his proposals (walls, badges for Muslims, etc.).
They are not even a basis for a compromise.
They are just plain stupid.

Pitt the Elder Of course, the man has a plan, and you know it. You have the intelligence to see though his plan, whereas others don't....
It goes roughly like this.
Reign in the anti establishment crowd with fairly decent proposals. Decent folks, high-IQ individuals who would like a decent form of religion, decent conservative Christians, and those who might favor a decent form of gun control (compromise), a decent form racial interaction....
But that's not the whole plan.
In order to gain a majority, he also wants to appeal to the racists, the white supremacists, the fanatical low IQ gun nuts, the ultra-right wing Christians, and any other gullible dumb fuck imaginable. Of course, if he's ever going to get voted into power, he's first going to disappoint the last crowd, because his proposals are moot to start off with.
Who cares, right?
In case he gets voted, let's hope he's not such a narcissistic egoistic clown as he appears at first sight, and disappoint the first crowd of decent folks too.
Of course, he's far far too decent to try and fool the people who really really believe in him :-)
