@DesertStateInEU Uhm, no. That's not what I said.
I said as a commodity, or "object to sell", it will become uninteresting if it is legal.
There will always be a demand for things like guns, drugs, etc.
Once "decriminalized", the price will drop, meaning that the opportunity to make money with this object will be reduced.
"Decriminalization" does not solve a drug problem in the countries which have the markets, but it will remove the opportunity to make millions of dollars with it for criminals, or (in case of Afghanistan), for the Taliban.

@DesertStateInEU Oh, I get your point.
But your point that one can "get rid of" terrorists is a so-called false premise which you can google for more info.
No, it isn't possible to "get rid of terrorists".
Same as it isn't possible to "get rid of drug abuse", or to "get rid of car crashes", or to "get rid of corruption".
All we can ever do in free societies, is to limit the impact of life's risks, and one way to limit the impact of the Taliban is to limit their resources. One way, is to remove support by the local population, by giving them an opportunity to provide for themselves and their families which does not depend on the goodwill of the Taliban. That, then "pulls the rug" from underneath the feet of the Taliban, giving moderate political forces the chance which they otherwise won't have.
If we keep up the "precipitation of metal" (your words), we are creating more support for the Taliban, and feeding the hate which leads to terrorism.
You keep on "precipitating metal", killing innocents, and Afghanistan will once again become The Graveyard of Empires.
Are you British?
In that case well done.
It'll be the 2nd time round.
