  1. Zionism became a tool of the British Empire during WW1. After WW2, the hegemon causing problems in the Levant and the ME in general, became Washington DC. The Cold War and "oil" (interests), geopolitical/grand strategy strategic interests (like military bases, or the control of geographical chokepoints), was the reason for all of the US/collective West's meddling in the ME for more than 100 years... From a position of POWER, the USA/collective West uses the strategy of "divide and rule" over these minor powers in the ME, and the Levant.
