The roots of the conflict was the British imperialist government in London's intent to ease its "rule" of and over the ME by setting up people against each other, same as they did almost everywhere else they went. It was an imperialist "divide and rule"-policy which started it, and as soon as Israel took over, they also simply took over the British practice...
