You can tell if a politician is a unifier or a divider/opportunist, by the way they talk or what they stand for. Ron Paul is a unifier. One of the few carreer politicians with good policy suggestions. America missed a great opportunity to elect a truly great leader. One of a mere handfull.

Excellent description for why Europe went down the drain 70 years later. Unlike Washington DC, which killed and maimed millions of Americans in order to enforce top-down single hegemony on the North American continent, Europe fought wars to "avoid the single hegemony", and thereby failed to balance Washington DC 's newly aquired power out. The USA was never a democracy. Washington DC never implemented what the majority wanted, a bottom-up balance of power. The Civil War ended that. Washington DC used strategy and trickery to fool the American people to become an empire, rather that a state for the world's destitute, oppressed, and hungry. Now, it's just another empire, a "dictatress" (Adams' farewell address warning) to the world.

I just came here from a video, with hundreds and hundreds of funny comments by young Americans, Canadians, Australians, etc... Sorry to burst your bubble. I've got some bad news for all you "never gonna fight"-fanboys. YOU. WILL. GO. Of course these hundreds of comments by Americans and Canadians mirror the comments made by hundreds and hundreds of funny comments by young Brits who voiced their outrage along the lines of "never fight for this country" and "ashamed of what the UK has become" or my personal favourite "not my war (Ukraine)/will never go". Sorry to inform these young men, but they do not know their history. Nor do they understand HOW POWER WORKS. It was what millions of young men already said 100 years ago in the leadup to their declaration of war in 1914, and the current dismay simply the echoes of what many of their grandfathers already said: "not my war", or "what does the death of Archduke have to do with me", or their fathers before them in 1939 ("this is a war of those who use long words", and "not our war"). Step 1: Imperialist encroachment/encirclement of a rival power (in stages after 1890), in times of peace, by aligned off-continental states (the naval powers) and their "buck-catchers", nodded off by the "buck passers" which hold the GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION of POWER. The USA never does, or never did anything it did not intend to profit from. That includes the Marschal Plan, presented to the world as "act of kindness" (LOL). The reality of the time was that Western Europe and Japan, both in suitable geographical locations to be PROXIES to contain the SU after WW2, were either partly or completely destroyed. Therefore to reconstruct them and re-militarize them had everything to with US global hegemony, and to use proxies to "man the parapets" of the WALL around Russia (containment/George Kennan/American Century).

18.00 China (nationalist) would have been supported to contain Russia in the East, a job previously allocated to Japan (late-19th century) by mainly the USA and the British Empire, which developed its industry and navy to this purpose.
