Another sharlatan, "selling" fallacies as "truth." Reality? Two wrongs don't make a right. "In rhetoric and ethics, "two wrongs don't make a right" and "two wrongs make a right" are phrases that denote philosophical norms. "Two wrongs make a right" has been considered as a fallacy of relevance, in which an allegation of wrongdoing is countered with a similar allegation. Its antithesis, "two wrongs don't make a right", is a proverb used to rebuke or renounce wrongful conduct as a response to another's transgression. "Two wrongs make a right" is considered "one of the most common fallacies in Western philosophy". [wiki] Sorry to burst your bubble, but pointing out that another culture was "cruel", does not rectify or nullify own historical wrongful deeds.

Classic "divide and rule"-strategy of setting up neighbors against each other, leveraging already existing dissent, and using "favoratism" as the key strategy. The USA had already done thus before, to Europe. After 1900 it chose GB and France as "favorites," cementing the "two power blocks" set up against each other in Europe. Classic "divide and rule/conquer."

@turbokid8719 You did not counter what I wrote, which is pointing out why your hero is a charlatan, which I stated as a scientific analysis. Have you got a problem with that?

@turbokid8719 The messages charlatans, politicians, advertizing, et al spread, are simple, and go straight to your limbic brain, the center of your emotions, and therefore the part of your brain responsible for "heuristics", or mental shortcuts. I'm sure Murray knows that. Did you? I know you can think. Please respond.

Yes, excellent comment. "Balance" is indeed rare. The whitewashing and blackwashing you refer to are attempts to influence emotions (search for "appeal to emotion").

The concept of "blackwashing" is however not new, nor "lefty". Search for "Black Legend of Spain", in which historically the powers which had their greedy eyes on the Spanish Empire (markets, strategically valuable ports, etc.) "blackwashed" Spain, in order to influence public opinion in the own countries.

After WW2 the USA (4% of global pop.) had 50% of the world's wealth. Obviously this was the "good life" and "good ol' days" many Americans are still dreaming of which started ending during the 1990s. Before, they had lived well at the expense of 95% of the planet which was left with the other 50% of wealth/resources. Today (US is still roughly 4% of gobal pop.) it has declined to 30% of global wealth, rapidly falling every year, and if East Asia is going to rise futher demanding more wealth and resources for their own populations which are on average poorer that Americans (and Westerners), what are US leaders going to do about it? Thoughts and prayers

European citizens today are still suffering from the hegemonial ambitions of some of their leaders, teaming up with Washington DC/the Pentagon. These citizens, usually around 50% of entire populations, suffer directly ("heating or eating"), or indirectly (soaring inflation), these are all "effects," not to be confused with "causes" (see concept of retrocausality, one of the most easilily misused ways to skew a timeline of events). Read Washington chief strategist Brzinzki's "grand plan", or Mackinder before that (1904). The aim was always to drive a rift between Europeans, to avoid greater Eurasian (geographically incl. the ME) co-operation and trade.

Hanson is just crying because he knows that the good ol' days for the American Century, which came about because the rest of the world was basically destroyed for the 40 years after WW2, are coming to an end. When everybody else was "down" and "exhausted" (reality) the USA could almost single-handedly employ the THE DIVIDE-AND-RULE STRATEGY to skim off the world's wealth at the expense of 95% of the planet. The rest has arisen from those ashes after the year 2000, and now the good ol' days are over.
