  32. MIKExMASSACREx During the Camp David and Oslo Peace talks, the Palestinians made wide-ranging concessions to the Jews/Israel. This including the recognition of the defacto status quo, which was that Israel would control all security issues. The region was carved up into A, B, and C Areas. The Palestinians also recognised Israels right to exist. After having made all of these concessions(and more) for something which was actually occupied territory aka West Bank (illegal invasion in 1967 according to international law) Israel/Shamir government decided not to continue to negotiate (murder of Rabin by radical right-wing Jews in 1995). In other words, they took the best bits, gave NOTHING in return....and continued the settlement of their Eretz Israel as proclaimed in their declaration of independence in 1948. In case you don't know what "Eretz Israel" means, I suggest googling, so that you know what the USA is signing up for....
