  1. It really depends on who the progressive is and who the right winger is. Progressives should not go on these shows expecting that the right winger actually cares about facts, logic, evidence, the truth, or understanding where the other side is coming from. It is a performance they put on to show they are stronger than weak liberals even if it doesn't stand up to basic scrutiny, that's what Fox News and talk radio are, that's what Steven Crowder and Ben Shapiro are, and that is what the faux-centrist front for the alt-lite called the youtube skeptic community is.

  2. Oh no, you misunderstand, they're centrist alt-lite. They do the same thing as Fox and Crowder of making bad arguments in "rekt liberal" videos to foster loyalty and an unearned sense of superiority among their followers. They also claim to be skeptics but their movement is being led by a 9/11 truther. They were also using "progressive" as a dirty word for many years until Bernie came along, now they attack the progressive movement with terms like "cultural marxist" and "post-modernist."

  3. Kyle Miller So you're saying we can't consider facts and evidence about the person we are debating? That seems highly irrational. Are you seriously telling me you would engage with Trump the same way you would engage with a normal person and expect normal results? That's ridiculous, so why can't the opposite principle, that some people just can't be reasoned with be extended to other people with histories of dishonest, unethical or irrational behavior? The answer is that it can, and applying that standard fairly and consistently will implicate most right wing talkers.

  4. amaebarnes Shapiro repeated accused Cenk Uygur of wanting to enslave his wife, he does not care about facts or logic. He is just one of the few conservative pundits left who doesn't try to make himself look like complete asshole to attract an audience of like minded people. And no, none of these people are successful, they are propped up by billionaire money to promote an agenda, it's basically a form of welfare for them.

  6. Kyle Miller I hate to break it you, but conservatives who have their own show and a following somewhere in the hundreds of thousands don't just fall from the sky. They build their audience(as a list well as billionaire sugar daddies) over a period of time and have a record of the things they say and how they behave. The question was in regards to right wing media not right wing people.
