+Yourinquirer Well said, there are plenty of ways that someone can do a disservice to their child that are not abuse, this is one of them.

***** In other words you have no facts and are making unscientific claims based on the word of someone who has no scientific evidence either.
1
***** Since you are a person of faith, that makes sense.

***** Exactly, faith has nothing to do with science. Yourinquirer and I are asking for science and all you can do is preach the Gospel according to Lawrence Krauss.
1
***** Exactly and you have no proven or verifiable data to back up the claim that teaching children mythological origins is child abuse, or even more harmful than teaching children that their presents are the result of special creation by Santa Claus. You instead depend on revealed knowledge from the cult of lawrence krauss.

***** A reasonable scenario is not a scientific basis for believing something, every mythology and pseduoscience has a "reasonable basis" that turns out to be completely false. Elaborate systems of belief without evidence are not science, however logical or methodical they may be they still use untested premises which usually don't hold up to testing. Of course that's all academic when your belief system is Krauss says it, I believe it, and that settles it. Even Yourinquirer isn't drinking the koolaid on this one, and if his logic reason and humanity can override received wisdom from so called atheist leaders than that just goes to show how bankrupt your trolling "thinking" is. Also harm does not equate to abuse, even then the term harm is overly broad. Comparing a disservice to a child's upbringing to abuse which leaves long lasting emotional and psychological scars is ridiculous. By your reasoning refusing to let a child learn a musical instrument is also child abuse because it denies them that knowledge and skill. Then again that distinction does not matter to you since like most people here you have no arguments and just troll sane reasonable people who aren't ideologues.

***** Seeing how America is getting more secular, despite being an overwhelmingly religious country, seems to be evidence against your hypothesis. Well your new hypothesis since you are moving the goal post from child abuse to dystopian hell hole. In both cases fairy tales don't seem to be the deciding factor. From personal experience I learned bible stories as a child, but I like books about dinosaurs better I even asked questions about how these two different stories could both be true. This shows that, unlike yourself, even small children can can exercise basic discernment and can decide for themselves. This again shows your basic science failure, since you start from simple talking points and make up more and more wild and elaborate stories from them which have little relation to even a basic understanding of the world. That methodology is not science, it's the methodology of fox news panels.

Yourinquirer You have to understand that to people like ***** the simple fact he is an atheist is all the science he needs.

+iiiiiii0000 Clearly fables and fairy tales are child abuse while genital mutilation is not, and this is true because of fairy tales that David does not believe.
