  2. Because their base wills it. They've trained them to support angry assholes with talk radio and fox news. They've trained them to unconditionally support complete morons under George W. Bush, and talk radio and fox news also. And they've trained them that saying extreme shit is how you get your way under the tea party. They then ended up surprised that a real person actually embodied all those traits.
