  4. Rubin is a propagandist who is all about normalizing the right and bashing everything else. He's not there to give the left a bad name, he's there to create a bunch of mindless idiot zombies who believe all kinds of right wing ideas are left wing.

  5. Miguel Zavaleta Yes this is true, however classical liberalism has been a dead ideology for 100 years. Social liberalism has been liberalism (at least to the english speaking world) ever since. People use the corpse of classical liberalism to give legitimacy to their ideas, libertarians use it to claim they are the heirs of the enlightenment and reactionaries started using it a couple years ago to claim they are pro-freedom. Rubin uses a mix of the libertarian and reactionary definitions.

  7. It kind of doesn't matter either way because the name is marketing however you slice it. The idea that classical liberal ideas lead to the kind of society they claimed to have wanted is wrong, it's wrong from a practical, economic, scientific, and philosophical viewpoint. We can either pursue classical liberal goals through socially liberal or leftist means, or we can pursue a different agenda with classical liberal means. What we cannot have is the outcomes classical liberals say they want by implementing classical liberal policies.
