+Erwin Müller Israel fired thousands of times more high explosives back into densely populated civilian housing.

+Poketto Well when the raging emotional guy who accuses his opponent of being a duped terrorist sympathizer accuses his opponent of trigger words, he's kinda being a hypocrite.
16
+bewilderedkettle Just because David wants an abstract "two state solution" that does not mean he is in anyway fair about his coverage, or that he has any humanitarian or human rights concerns on this issue. Saying his position is great just because he doesn't want Israel to take all the land forever is like saying I deserve a nobel peace prize simple for not hurting people. It is the bare minimum, and only the start of a decent position on the occupation.
13
+Dumisani Washington Seeing as he's only advocating for human rights, and not a specific peace treaty, he shouldn't make any concessions of human rights. Any settlement that denies human rights is not peace.
11
Erwin Müller Were the Palestinians building Panzers? Were the allies occupying Hamburg when the bombed it? The answer to both is no. Israel is waging total war on civilian population that poses no threat, then blames the people who want revenge. Israel is engaged in whole sale land grab for the kind of breathing room you say justified carpet bombing, but ineffective rockets that kill no one are some how different.

+Tadzio5050 Exactly, Assouline just uses emotional appeals without discussing specifics or facts. I had enough of this guy when David had him on to talk about the negotiations that led up to the Iran deal, and he suggested the U.S. should use the threat of Iran to push the gulf states into better relations with Israel.
9
Erin Meadows That is a load of horseshit. This has nothing to do with self defense, and no one is calling self defense racist. I'm sorry if that triggers you or shuts down your attempts to be dishonest.
8
Evgeniy Zinchenko There has been carte blanche support of Israel by the United States for decades. To say the problem is too much criticism is laughable. Put simply, the conflict won't be solved by lies.
5
David McIntyre No, the fact he's biased means he's biased.
5
Erwin Müller Israel is occupying the places it is bombing. Thank you for admitting that does not make sense. Just come to the same realization about your other propaganda and everything will be squared away.
5
Tekin Beyoglu I don't even think it's a subconscious bias. He knows the occupations and the way it is conducted is wrong, but won't take the next step and back away from Israeli apologetics. He wants to have his cake and eat it too.
4
+Miguel Flores No, being an angry accusatory asshole does not mean he owned the debate. By that logic Trump is best debater out there.
4
+Tony Gomez Did you notice how his opening statement was cultural relativism?
4
+Lodurr Seeing as the BDS movement only wants basic human rights, not a specific plan for peace, the idea that they would "give up" basic human rights for "peace" is a joke.
3
Or-el Vaknin Simple fact is that Gazans have no freedom or self determination due to the Israeli military. That is an occupation and you have no facts to dispute it, just a bunch of dishonest sophistry.
3
Or-el Vaknin It's not about what they say, it's about what Israelis do, and what they do is settle land in the west bank and occasionally wage war on the civilians of Gaza to justify it. Gaza and the West Bank surrendered 50 years ago, and Israelis are still finding excuse for military occupation and war.
3
Evgeniy Zinchenko What you said makes no sense.
2
Binyamin Arazi They removed settlements, but Gaza is still occupied.
2
+Binyamin Arazi Except for the fact it is illegally occupied.
2
Or-el Vaknin Except for part where Gaza is occupied.
2
Or-el Vaknin Now you are just making things up. Israel won't end the occupation in Gaza because they want to have a scape goat and a divided Palestine. Both of which they use to justify expansion in the West Bank.
2
Or-el Vaknin Well so long as they inflict a constant amount of suffering rather than an inconsistent amount, I'm sure that makes everything better. That so called "private land" is stolen, it's owners and their property are bulldozed underneath, funny how you consider that no big deal. The fact is the Israelis have never stopped the war they started against they people they conquered. They want the land, the people are disposable.
2
Or-el Vaknin Talk about contradictory lies, first you say that Israel makes them suffer until they stop hating Israel, which is a very sound policy. Now you deny that the people being bombed into oblivion and crammed into ghettos of wretched poverty are being paternalisticly taken care of. How can you have proven two contradictory statement?
2
Or-el Vaknin How can you ask someone to realize something that isn't true? There is no Palestinian war machine, there is no similarity between the Palestinians and the nazis, there is no Palestinian alliance with ISIS. It's all propaganda. It is you who is in favor of treating Palestinians like they are not humans, by supporting the occupation which denies them basic human rights.
2
Steven Werner Or-el Vaknin You're projecting there buddy. People like you cannot mentally accept reality. It's a condition called "Denial", an inability to appreciate lifes hard realities, likely stemming from a fear of persecution. And once you give in to that fear it becomes easy to dehumanize and cling to leaders like Netanyahu. You so desperately need to see the world in your particular way, all facts & evidence is immediately discounted, truth and reason are thus irrelevant to you. You accept your "facts" ONLY from Israeli sources that comply with your vision, however distorted that may be.
2
Or-el Vaknin Well that was a quick turn around, but like an alcoholic who finds religion, you've just substituted one self destructive falsehood for another. You just can't see reason because at heart you have to hate someone.
2
+thebuccaneersden Are you kidding? He's David's middle east and foreign policy apologist "expert."
2
Poketto No, that is what is being said, Phillipe said it, Erin said it, there is no denying it.
2
+tal32123 Actually that is not the case, and unlike Phillipe, Eitan actually had arguments rather than just yelling how angry he was for 30 minutes.
2
Steven Werner Oh wow, two people say things how evil and nefarious it is to make a statement. This really shows that human rights are evil and ultranationalism, militarism, and ethnocentrism are the true goods of this world. You sure showed me.

+partipoper32 I lost respect for Philippe when he advocated for not stopping Iran's nuclear program so that Arab states could be pressured into better relations with Israel. And he said that during the rise of ISIS.
1
Or-el Vaknin Now you're just childishly rehashing criticisms of your own behavior. And you're pretty good at it, now just advocate denying voting rights to Arab citizens and you have a great shot at becoming Prime Minister of Israel.
1
Or-el Vaknin So you are saying you want to run for President of an occupied country on a platform of anti-semitism?
1
Or-el Vaknin Good luck with your antisemitic political career.
1
+tarun1982 Philippe isn't a bone head, he's just angry and rather amoral.
