  4. She's going into office with high unfavorables and a pissed off activated progressive movement of course she'll follow up on a lot of her policies. Doing anything else is suicide, this is why Bernie tried to box her in with the platform fight.

  7. You're not going to create progressive change by destroying anything, you only create progressive change by building alternatives and gathering popular support. Destroying the democratic party does neither, and the institutions to do so don't exist at the moment. Building a strong movement that puts pressure on the democratic party including pressure from within the party, which Bernie Sanders has done, is the only way forward.

  9. Trump is only going to cause long term pain. The only message the establishment is going to get out of a Trump presidency is that they need to adopt authoritarian right wing populism. The only reason Bernie Sanders even had a chance was because people were sick of Obama's centrism, after 1 or 2 terms of Trump they will be begging for Establishment Democrats back. Trump resets left wing progress back to 2008 and does a shit ton of damage that the next non-Republican is going to have to undo.

When asked about the Trump phenomenon, Bernie responded with compassion and told Trump supporters that they had a right to be angry, but that they should focus their anger against the people who are actually responsible and work to fix the situation. Now he should probably make a similar to speech to the minority of his supporters who have the political maturity of teenagers.

  21. TwelveNation What you have the right to do and what is the right thing to do are two very different things. If your only reason for doing something is that you have the right to do it you don't have a very good argument. If you're a Bernie supporter and you're not working within the system with the lesser of two evils and you're not working outside the system to create a voice for good, then you're betraying what he represents.

  23. David Stewart It's not random, it's playing the odds. Most Bernie activists I've spoken to are voting Clinton, but looking for ways to gain power in the democratic party. Other than phone banking or giving money to Bernie and only Bernie, buster did nothing before Bernie came along and will do nothing when he returns to the senate. But since you're responding, what's your plan?

Yet here I am over 1 year later. Btw what's your plan to bring about the revolution? Wait for a savior to descend from the sky?
