  1. ***** The idea that immigrant group x are filthy disease carriers has been used by bigots since the 19th century. This summer newsmax ran a story saying immigrants were spreading not only disease but but toxic waste. So yeah when people say the solution is stopping immigrants rather than vaccinating people they have a bigoted reason.

  2. Even if it were brought back from the Philippines, that isn't proof that it was illegal immigrants, there is legal immigration, travel, and US military personel who could have carried it. In any event it's irrelevant because the only reason it was an outbreak was due to the loss of heard immunity caused by people believing dubious claims about vaccines.

  5. kathy kelly And? How is that relevant to the illegal immigrant are the cause of disease claim? People have been immigrating from poorer parts of the world since before the US was even a country, including during the late 90s and early 2000s when people believed measles in the US was eradicated.
