  1. Doan08 I don't know how that plays in the context of what he said, but he is correct. What we call Palestine was carved out of other Arab states during the 1967 war. It's entirely possible he said that in the context of a horrible right wing rant, but the statement is true.

  2. TrangleC Let me ask this, what would a Palestinian state consist of? My guess is you would say the occupied territories. Before the occupation those territories were within the borders of other countries and were not considered their own state, or any other distinct group. It was the Israeli occupation that lead to them being considered a group called Palestinians. Since that is what is being referred to when we say "Palestinian," then that distinction is the creation of the Israeli occupation beginning in 1967.  That does not justify the seizing of those lands in 1967. That does not justify the occupation of those lands to this day. That does not justify settling those lands. That does not justify displacing the people there. That does not justify denying the people who live on that land human rights including the right of return. And that does justify denying them their own state.
