Definitely agree Brian, I'm still going to give David a chance to get out of election mode (which he should have done already) but this spaghetti strategy against Trump has got to go. David needs to leave this kind of bullshit to CNN. I hope reporting on the actual policies of the Trump admin will give him a wakeup call, but David towing the party line like this is disgusting.

itsasin1969 I don't, I'm highly distrustful of the intelligence communities role in the anti-Russian angle. Also this country needs a better opposition to Trump than mediocre centrism, this does nothing to further that cause and it will just make legitimate criticism of horrible policies by the Trump admin look like background noise.

David how the hell can you support publishing unverified information? You do realize all someone has to do to make something like this "newsworthy" is promote a fake report enough to get someone to report on the rumors. Neither CNN nor Buzzfeed treated this as disreputable information like they should have.

Pretty much, weren't these same people complaining about fake news last month?

***** I'm not saying all stories about connections between Trump and Russia are false, many political figures in the U.S. have ties to foreign billionaires including Russian Oligarchs. Even McCain and Romney who both criticized Obama for being soft on Russia worked with lobbyists with Russian connections. Global wealth inequality leads to a system like this. However I do think this is being overblown for political football. It's an easy scapegoat for a lot of people in power. This story in particular is pretty sketchy given that the report has serious problems and has been floating out there for months and no one found it credible. Not Hillary, not any of the dozen or so primary oppenents Trump had, no one. Then intelligence agencies briefed both Obama and Trump about it after the election then leaked that fact to the media so they could report it like it was credible because both presidents had been briefed on it. This has all the halmarks of the same kind of manufactured news to hype weapons of mass destruction before the Iraq War. I don't think people actually want war with Russia, but this seems like someone's agenda to shape domestic politics.
