Well this is no surprise, right wingers need to suppress education in order to advance their agenda. Anti-university sentiment and right wing politics go hand in hand.

Jimi Quackers Pro-univeristy sentiment is a standard part of western civilization and has been for centuries. It's a default position. On the other hand anti-university sentiment is a reactionary position that has arisen constantly over the past 500 years when scientific knowledge or philosophy has challenged tradition, religion and orthodoxy. These two positions are not equal and your attempt to flip the script is just childish. Which is to say that it's not surprising, just disappointing.

Father Joe You can be the best crackpot biophysicist there is, it doesn't change the nature of a broad socio-cultural phenomenon.

Jimi Quackers I can see why college has it's current negative reputation, decades of propaganda by the far right and now the alt-right here on youtube. And you shouldn't team up with those people to get back at your dad, just find someone to play catch with.

Well Peterson is also believes communist mole people are the reason people opposed inequality in the 1970s, so he's not the best source on this.

Seriously Dave, you're just overcompensating here.

Jimi Quackers In other words you've got nothing and just posted some mindlessly repeated catch phrase that came of an RNG. What's intolerant about telling you to sort things out with your old man and go outside and play ball?

thatwouldbeillogical 500 years of university liberalism show that universities being liberal has been helpful to society. Universities being liberal is what has generated new ideas and been a forum for testing them which has driven progress over the centuries. I think claiming that they crossed the line 5 years ago is something that needs some kind of evidence and reasoning to back it up.

thatwouldbeillogical Sure I can, liberal universities have historically driven progress. That progress has been opposed by conservatives and reactionaries. You need to make the case as to why that has changed and the same dynamics don't apply today.

Jimi Quackers Even if your description is accurate, isn't screaming a form a free expression and isn't opposition to a person's message a form of free expression? And for that matter what makes you think your average Fox News celebrity or internet troll is actually challenging in a meaningful academic sense? thatwouldbeillogical listed "liberal" ideas he heard in college as criticism of American consumer culture, the history of marginalized people in America, and Obamacare. Only one of those things is actually mainstream, and it is the one that is currently the law of the land. The other two are actually challenging to someone who grew up in American culture which exposes people to a lot of consumerism and American exceptionalism from the time they are born. Jordan Peterson is a crackpot who believes in conspiracies by underground communist mole people, has advocated for censorship and created political strategies for conservatives, so he's not reliable source.
