  2. sausageman That is some bullshit right there, given what's been admitted by members of the Israeli military there was no concern for civilian casualties. This includes constant shelling and ROE that said to kill person who was not part of the IDF.

  3. sausageman Well sausagefingers sausageman is that Secular Moral Superiority actually has moral superiority because he applies equal standards to everyone(you know real morality) unlike sausagefingers sausageman who just has a bunch of double standards. Religious laws and religious privilege, and religious thugs aren't secular, not even in Israel.

  4. Ceasius Well the original punishment was jail, so the mere fact he was threatened with it is a problem. While it is true that Israel has historically been and continues to be primarily nationalistic, and saying 75% of population are Jewish and therefore, religious is wrong, there is a troubling rise in religious extremism among the people and in the government that shouldn't be downplayed or ignored.

  5. Ceasius You're saying a religious problem isn't indicative of a religious problem? In order to secure a majority in the Knesset the Likud party had to make a number of promises to religious extremist parties meaning more incidents like this are going to occur. And they were elected by a consensus of citizens.

  11. sausageman Except no one committing violence and vandalism over the worship of France. No one is attacking women trying to worship at any french Cathedrals. French people aren't stopping airlines, nor are they terrorizing little girls for not dressing "french" enough. All these things are done by religious extremists in Israel.

  12. Ceasius I do make that distinction, what you and sausagefingers sausageman are doing is using one to deny the other. The Likud party is giving a huge number of benefits and exemptions to religious fundamentalists.

  13. Ceasius Fair enough, just as I was talking to sausageman and his insistence that Israel is more secular than the U.S. despite the fact gives way more legal power to various sects and religion in general.
