nothing to do with the work culture. Germany has the "best" work culture and work-life balance yet it still has one of the lowest fertility rates in Europe and not that far up form China.

Nothing to do with money and wealth. Our great grandparents lived in abject poverty compared to us today, yet they had plenty of children. More money being thrown at the issue won't solve it. It has been tried by Japan and Hungary in massive scale but it hasn't worked. It's the culture and feminism. An irreligious culture that worships the material and a culture that promotes their peak fertility women to work instead of building a family will obviously result in low birth rates. People nowadays want to have it all, they want to have the lavish lifestyle without it being compromised, but children need sacrifices including in the lifestyle. Most people are not willing to make them.

@ALTP-w5j Your mother had no choice but to work. Even though post WW2 most Western countries achieved wealth of unimaginable proportions allowing 70-90% of the women to stay home and raise children with minimal labour participation. Why is is that only a few decades after the achievement, somehow women were convinced that if they are pushed into the work force they will gain rights? Could it have been so that they have more customers and more labour competition so they can pay less? Or how about having more people to tax? Just so you know most of the important founders of feminism had as an ultimate goal the dismantle of the family structure (patriarchy). They achieved it. The man is no longer the head of the household and family forming is abysmally low. Could we be comfortably wealthy and have families? Yes, if we hadn't been psyoped by the people who control the system (the tribe mainly). But nowadays for most people the choice is clear. Be moderately comfortable and have materialistic happiness, or create a family and struggle. If we had a culture that valued family, most would choose the second. We don't. Bringing it back all the way to my first point.
