Good luck trying to explain basic science to the ignorant ones like Horus who just commented. Australia is mostly a wide open virgin field for the virus.

What I find horrific is their willingness to cause illness and death in their own communities by doing things that are against the health measures - being unmasked in groups of other people from different households. Instead of protesting the virus, all they're doing is spreading the virus.

@VagaBond-tv5ck It is absolutely maddening to watch how this plays out in anyplace where propaganda is allowed to masquerade as news. It is almost like watching Murdoch's station Sky News tell people that it's their "freedumb" to turn on all the house lights bright during the London Blitz - even though it will cause Nazi bombers to drop high explosives on their neighborhood. It is the same thing when these people assemble in groups, with hardly anyone wearing a mask, people from different households mingling together.

This variant is definitely bad. It spreads so damn easily, not like the kinder gentler covid that went around last year. I hate to think of how many have been infected at the anti-lockdown protests :( On the plus side, they won't be so uppity when they're hooked to ventilators. If there are enough to go around, that is. Put those ones last in line.

@dddd-uk4vn You are perfectly wrong in that regard. If there are 200 people crammed into a subway car, or a restaurant, it doesn't matter if there's one Delta-infected person or 50 of them - everyone present is going to be exposed. Got any other completely-flawed and badly-thought-out arguments?

Re "Both sides are right." << What kind of crack are you on? Have you ever been in the same room as a history book? I'm just glad that vast numbers of your type of idiot weren't around back when humanity was busy eradicating polio, smallpox, and other diseases by mass vaccination.

@haggrieshaber5112 Oh dear, you still seem to have not read what I wrote. Let me try again, using Europe of the 1930s as a setting. Was it the failure of the west to work with Hitler that prompted WW2? Didn't the west try hard enough to appease Hitler by letting him invade country after country? It is much the same thing with this virus, and with the people who stupidly and illogically promote the spread of it, even though it will ravage their very own communities and families. It is much the same thing with cancer cells. Tolerating them, instead of eradicating them, leads to an even worse disaster.

@haggrieshaber5112 BTW the word is "practical". And I haven't had the morning coffees yet so I'm not baiting any traps with honey just now.
